Air Fryer Chicken Breasts are healthy, simple, and easy to make. Great on their own or shredded for other recipes.

Air Fryer Chicken Breasts
Air fryers have exploded in popularity because they make cooking fast, convenient, and versatile. You can use them for everything from vegetables and fries to steaks and desserts, but they truly shine with simple, everyday dishes. A basic air fryer technique can elevate plain ingredients into a crisp, flavorful meal without a lot of fuss.

Chicken breasts are a go-to for quick meals: they’re lean, versatile, and pair well with many sides. Baking is a common method, but it can leave chicken lacking crispness unless overcooked. The air fryer solves that problem by producing nicely browned edges while keeping the interior juicy. This makes air-fried chicken breasts ideal for salads, sandwiches, a side of potatoes, or shredded for casseroles and tacos.

Air frying is quick and efficient. Cook times are shorter than many other methods, the surface crisps well, and the meat stays tender. It’s also a healthy way to prepare chicken since you only need a small amount of oil. Serve these breasts with steamed vegetables, a simple salad, or use them in recipes that call for cooked shredded chicken.

If you want a side cooked in the air fryer, try fries or roasted vegetables to keep things simple and fast. This chicken also works well in comfort dishes like casseroles or pot pie-style recipes.

Ingredients for our Air Fried Chicken
- Chicken breasts (boneless, skinless)
- Olive oil
- Seasonings — salt, pepper, paprika, and minced garlic (or your preferred spice blend)

How to prepare Air Fried Chicken Breasts
Begin with thawed chicken breasts for best results. If pieces are uneven in thickness, gently pound them to an even thickness so they cook uniformly. You can cook from frozen, but expect significantly longer cook times and less predictable results.

Brush or rub the chicken with a light coating of olive oil, then season both sides with salt, pepper, paprika, and minced garlic, or any spice mix you prefer. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F. If your unit has no preheat setting, run it empty for a few minutes to warm up.

Place the seasoned breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for about 9 minutes, then flip and continue cooking for an additional 8–10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Exact times depend on breast size and air fryer model, so use a meat thermometer and avoid overcooking. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing or shredding to preserve juices.
