Today I’m issuing a friendly triple dare: three simple, fun tasks you can try. You can do all of them or pick one — either way, they’re meant to spark a small, satisfying change in your day.
Number One: Quickly complete your daily household tasks
- Make the bed.
- Do the dishes.
- Laundry — if it’s on your list and you have time.
- Collect and empty all trash.
- Wipe down countertops and appliances — pay special attention to counters, the stove, and the refrigerator handle.
- Wipe down bathroom surfaces — focus on areas you frequently touch.
- Sweep or vacuum the floor — ten minutes is plenty; don’t try to deep-clean the whole house.
- 52 Pick up and put away
Number Two: Put a twist on a favorite recipe
Take a recipe you love and add one unexpected element you’ve always wanted to try. For example, try potato salad with chopped jicama for crunch, or use lemon juice and olive oil instead of mayonnaise. Small changes can make familiar dishes feel new.
Number Three: Give something a place to grow
Plant something, even if it’s just scattering seeds on a small patch of soil. Press them in, water, and watch what happens. Choosing seeds that are suited to your local climate will increase your chances of seeing flowers or greens sprout. Plant something, care for it, and enjoy the calm reward of growing life.
Try one or all three — they’re quick, low-pressure ways to brighten your day and your space.
